I’m Ayra Makani, a senior at the University of Wisconsin–Madison majoring in Information Science, with certificates in Computer Science and Digital Studies. I grew up in Mumbai, where I spent several years practicing fine arts, anchoring for my school’s radio station, leading the film club, and managing the school’s official Instagram page. These experiences helped me develop a dynamic range of interpersonal and mass communication skills, and taught me how to appeal to, entertain, and inform specific audiences.

At UW–Madison, I’ve had the opportunity to work as a Computer Science tutor at the campus learning center, where I helped students build foundational programming practices. This role gave me hands-on experience with debugging, as well as essential teaching methods that encourage independent problem-solving and critical thinking.

Currently, I serve as the Board Director of a newly founded Baking Club with over 130 active members. This leadership role has shaped me into someone who values harmony and creativity internally, while managing event planning, delegation, and executive operations externally.

My academic background has equipped me with a strong foundation in combining technology, design, and storytelling to create user-centered solutions that also reflect a brand’s image and goals. After graduation, I’m excited to pursue opportunities in the tech industry—especially in roles like Project/Product Management, UX/UI, or Creative Technology—where I can continue to bridge creativity with strategy to make thoughtful, engaging, and impactful products.
